Walmart starting selling these around the late 80's. The date has not always been on the foot. Over the years, they have decrease in size. They use to be really big and fluffy, now they are a little smaller but their cuteness remains the same.

One of the most sought after year seems to be 1991 which is very hard to find but we do manage to come across one every now and then.
